Did anyone go to the Jamestown Show yesterday?

Apart from the cool, drizzly start to the day what did you think? What did you enjoy the most?

I thought the Quilts were absolutely fabulous. Would like to have a go one day but don't think I have the patience.

I went. My intention was to go for an hour or so, but I ended up there for over four hours, and still never got to see everything, the main reason being that I constantly ran into people whom I hadn't seen or spoken to for years and we spent our time gasbagging.

The Show has changed and spread out quite a bit with some exhibitors in the "The Big Shed". This was one of the places that I never got to see. To me it seems a little out of the way, and this is possibly why I unintentionally bypassed it. I miss the Horses in action which has declined over the years mainly due to the inability to get convenors, the Show Society lost a great worker with the passing of Clarrie Kerslake who was the driving force in this regard for many years. I was not struck by any particular display, but thought that it was a great show overall with a good selection of things to do and see. I did enjoy looking at the crafts in the Bank SA tent, I never cease to be amazed at the local talent we have, and those who spend a great deal of time preparing exhibits for the show. I was also surprised at the number of children's entries in the Stacey Pavilion, everything from "Six Chook eggs" to fancy biscuits. It all takes time and effort and these are the people who keep our shows running.

The weather was not perfect, but I didn't find it unpleasant. I'm looking forward to going again next year.

We were there for the first time ever. Just like a miniature Whyalla show with more local doodats for sale.

My daughter was the one in the really light summery top and skirt and tiny sandals walking around saying she wasn't cold, while everyone else was rugged up  Roll Eyes

I saw a number of people who seemed to me to be lightly dressed. Obviously they all have better circulation than I do Smiley  Kids never seem to feel the heat or cold, unless of course they are bored, then it's, "Can we go home, I'm cold"
