I quite often associate with members of the farming community in this district, and fortunately we are in a very solid farming district, and I personally can not remember a year when this district has not had the headers in the paddocks, general observations of new vehicles and homes being built or renovated in Jamestown testify to a robust and lucrative farming community, this benefits the whole district, however move a little north to areas such as Orroroo and Peterborough, and you have a differant tale to tell.

Hi Richard,
adding to your thoughts, I've always held the belief that Jamestown has prospered due to it's self sufficiancy. It is a town that is self reliant, and doesn't rely on any particular source of farming etc.
Unlike other towns in any given direction, where in the past they heavily relied on one source or another for their towns to keep on going.

A drive around the district at the moment, and all the local farmers and businesses must be extremely pleased, green grass and crops everywhere. Also I agree, there are plenty of new vehicles and homes being built in Jamestown by local farmers. What about the prices at last weeks market, no wonder meat is so expensive at the supermarket.
