"I'm Bored"

« on: 04 February, 2012, 11:26:50 AM »

It is with great regret that I read of the passing of an old Jamestown resident and school mate, Monte Klingner.

Third son, and youngest child of Theo and Elise (and Step son of Vera) Klingner,  of Jamestown.

Monte made his mark Australia wide, as a very well known bee keeper and Honey supplier.

My most Sincere condolences to his Family.

What a shock!
I always caught up with Monte when he was in Jamestown the same time I was.

When Monte left the Post Office I took his place as Junior Postal Officer.
Had a many a good time with Monte.

Monte was one of the rare ones that could do one and a quarter lap under water of the Jamestown Pool.

My condolences to the family.

I have been told that Monte had been unwell for some time.

As a young teenager, I spent many enjoyable hours over on the "Honey Block" behind my parents house, with Monte and Ross, chopping wood, firing the Boiler and helping bottle off honey.

We never went short of a jar of honey, and we had some great times together.

I was privileged to be able to care for Monte while he underwent treatment in Brisbane.  It was with great sadness that I heard of his passing.  In fact, all my colleagues are extremely sad at this news.  Monte and his wife were a joy to spend time with.  Monte's beautiful, kind, gentle nature was appreciated by all of us.  I can only imagine how hard it was for Monte and his wife to be so far away from home, family and great friends, and we feel honoured to call them our new friends.

Love to all who knew and loved him, my heart is heavy,

Peace be with you,

Justine.
Thank you for your beautiful words about Monte Klingner.
As you have remarked, Monte will always be remembered for his gentle & kind nature.
It must be hard to say goodbye to respected patients.
The staff that cared for my aged late Father a few years ago, battled with a similar emotional roller coaster.
It broke our hearts to see the impact of Dad's passing upon his carers.
Fortunately time will heal your hurt.

Hello Justine. Thank you for taking the time and effort to pass on your feelings regarding the passing of Monte.

He was, as you say a very humble and eminently likeable man.

It pleases me no end that there are caring people such as yourself who are willing and able to help them in their darkest times.

I'm sure that your efforts are greatly appreciated by all who knew Monte and his family.
