I'm not sure how 'past' your Past residents are supposed to be for this topic, but I hope to go back a few years.

My mum's aunt and cousins emigrated to Australia in the 1950s from England and as I am researching our family tree, I was hoping to find them.
I have traced the aunt to Jamestown. She was Annie Elizabeth Whiteley, who died aged 91 years on 14th May 1985.
I know three of her children sailed into Adelaide, and so am assuming they live nearby.
Her youngest son was ******* (edited by adminer for privacy reasons) Whiteley (born 1937, Hull England.)
Her two daughters have more than likely got married and changed their name, but to what I wonder. They are **** (b.1933) and **** (b. 1934) Whiteley.

The funeral notice in The Advertiser, stated Annie Elizabeth had 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
I wonder, do any of the family still live locally??

Regards
Gill

Hope someone can help you Gill. Let's hope someone in Jamestown still has knowledge of your Aunt's family and can put you in touch.

The information you've requested however, is personal. Members can Private Message Gill or email events@jamestownevents.com and request we provide Gill with their contact details if they wish.
Cheers

G'Day Gill,

To my knowledge, there are no Whiteley  family members in or close around Jamestown, From Annie's headstone they had seven children but none of the names are familiar to me.  I work away a lot but I'll see what I can find out for you. You will find a photo of the headstone here: http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn133/ozzirt/DE9.jpg

If I have the right family they Departed UK on 13/01/1956 aboard "Orontes"

Hi all,
Just a note to say thank you for your site. I was contacted by the president of the local history group, who knew of one of Annie Elizabeth's daughters and passed on my request. She agreed to my contacting her.
We have just started corresponding an no doubt will have much news to swap.

Thank You again.
