I know this isn't in Jamestown, but I didn't know anywhere else to put it.

Does anyone know of any available accomodation in or near Laura for the Folk Fair?
My brother and his partner are wishing to stay on the Friday and Saturday night, but so far all hotels/motels/b&b's are booked out..including Clare!

If anyone can help, please leave a message via here, or send me a PM if you are a forum member.

Thanks in advance.  Smiley

We took our 11 year old grand daughter to the Laura Folk Fair yesterday. There were a good range of rides & games to keep her amused.
The Art Exhibition was well laid out & had some interesting work especially from the surrounding schools.
The craft stalls were quite varied & the choice of food was good.
The music entertainment was predictably dedicated to country, folk & bush genres, although I would have liked to see some light rock music to cater for baby boomers like me.
The weather was great, the atmosphere very family friendly & the 8.30 fireworks were quite outstanding for a small country event like this.
Might go again next year.

I just go a chance to see this, as I've had a busy weekend.

TLW went along to the Folk fair,...  I had other things that needed to be done, she came home with toys for the Grandkids and as excited as most kids. It must have certainly been a great do.

What a pity it's founder Dick Byles could not have been about to see it. (Dick's dad had the Commercial Hotel here in about the late 1960s)
