Does this community know that there has been a  review of government offices undertaken and the Jamestown Office (Pirsa) is not considered a core office of PIRSA and along with several other PIRSA offices in regional SA may close? Clare seems to be the preferred site for this neck of the woods. This was all reported recently in a local Yorke Penninsular paper in an interview with Mr. D. Ploughman from PIRSA.  Watch this space for further updates.

That sounds about right, give it a few more years and the only office will be in Adelaide CBD.

The government have to finance all these tax reductions they promise every election, now we find out where the money is coming from. The just start cutting back on Schools, Hospitals, Mental health institutions and Business help.

Don't get me started, "pollies" of all callings need to be made to work for a living and get rid of their never ending perks. The earn film star wages, yet get a publicly financed retirement that we taxpayers have to pay for,....

I'll give up before I get really angry.

Advice received from unofficial sources but very reliable indicates that no firm decisions on possible office closure will be made until after next state election and although not completely out of the question, it is unlikely that the office will close, but the delivery of services will change. The Jamestown office is still considered a central and necessary part of regulation of the mining industry and there is no intention of relocating this group to another location in the foreseeable future.

I know this is very off topic but.....

That's good news mix. I am a little skeptical about the Government's intentions (for any arena) after their attempt at downgrading country hospitals. It is interesting that the Glenside Mental Health facility remains an uncertainty - the Government want to diminish the facilities dramatically yet there is resistance.  Too bad that resistance wasn't there when they closed Hillcrest and distributed very sick people into the Adelaide community without adequate support.   So to me.... Government promises mean nothing. PIRSA may yet be the subject of cuts & changes at the Government's whim.

Do I detect a faint whiff of pessimism there Adminer?

Then again,... maybe it was just a dose of good healthy pragmatism?
