Remember the Processions down the Main Street?

The one above was early 1950's.

PS

If can name the five (main) people in the frame, I"ll send you a big Kiss/ shake your hand /give a dollar.

The little fellow on the right in the bike basket turned out a real top bloke.

The poles protruding out from the basket, had a material bag on it. This was for donations from the spectators,

N.B.

Goosey still has the three wheeled bike.

The "Around Australia" fund raising effort by the Jamestown Primary School in approx.1955.

There was a procession down the main street.
At the head of the procession were school children each holding a letter which said "Around Australia"

It was based on one penny equaling 1 mile.

We collected all the used bottles from around the town and sold them.

I can remember going out to the old Quarry (the next one up from the existing Refuse Pit) in Alf Jarvis's (teacher) ute and collecting beer bottles from the camp site of the quarry workings.

I was in a horse and buggy with Colin & Robert Francis.
(Cannot remember what we represented)

I didn't think the Continental was very interesting for you Dykey.

But I do seem to remember a bloke lining up to walk "Blondie" home afterwards. Roll Eyes
