Hey! Did you guys get any good drops of rain up your way today?! Any at all during the week for that matter? Us city folk(well..... speak for ya selves, I'M still country!) got quite a good drop. Here south of the city, down Mclaren Vale way, we missed out during the early part of the week, but we sure got our fair share today! I hope the people who needed it the most got some.

I'm in Scotland and have been sending rain back home (or at least hoping for it). Let's hope there's lots more coming!

Been a damn heatwave over here - temps up to 8C - almost no snow on the way down to York today - only on the mountain tops in the Borders in Scotland. Still we did have some in Switzerland - was hoping for a white Christmas though. One forecast said Adelaide would be 43 today - that's shite! :'(

Heh, yeah... it's already passed the forecast 43, and is heading North to 50! Oh man, how I'd LOVE to be experiencing 8c! You know you're in Adelaide when they say a "Cool" change means a drop of only 5 degrees. 35 tomorrow... bliss. Enjoy your holiday, bring us all some of that English weather on your way home, k?

Well,... I don't know if I should say this, but at the moment things are looking very nice. Perhaps we have not had as much rain as normal for this time of year, but we seem to have had enough, and it has come at the times when it has been needed. All of our household water tanks are overflowing, totalling 23,500ltrs. The ground has been wet for a good while now and this last few days the weather has been looking as I remember a Winter's day of old. Cold and overcast with plenty of regular showers, we have had 13mm of rain (1/2 an inch in the old money), in the last 24 hours in the town and speaking to a farmer's wife today she stated that they were cautiously optimistic. I went down to the new housing development today where there were a crew of blokes erecting fence posts for the blocks. Realising that it may well be the last chance to get clear photos of the area I ventured onto the block only to find that it is extremely soggy and the clay on my shoes made me stand 5cm taller.(I could do with the height) If we get a finishing rain in late September or early October our crops should be OK. It would still be nice to see a bit of runoff to fill a few dams and raise the subsoil moisture levels. Oh,.. what we wouldn't do for a week's wet miserable weather, but for the moment we must count our blessings.

It's been great, hasn't it! I love my winter months, and I know the first part of winter wasn't very promising, but so far this start to August is very good indeed! Even though one of our rainwater tanks has sprung a leak(it's been isolated from the others), the others are full to capacity! Yay!!! The vines out the back are rejoicing! Especially after the long hard summer we had. I say bring it on...we could certainly do with more rain.

I just did a quick total, and we've had 95mm since the start of June, all nicely spread over the period.

Well,... It's too late for most, and not really enough to be of any use except to water the lawn and top up the rainwater tanks a little. We've had 10.7mm to 4:00pm and it doesn't look like we'll be getting much more.
I guess we just have to be grateful for what we get

I'm just glad it rained today, and not yesterday when we moved. Double whammy for our cat...she hates thunder, and she wasn't too happy about moving either.

Only 5 minutes away! We've had enough of moving.. 12 times in 19 years. Lucky the other half is in the removalist business, isn't it! Yeah, know what you mean about cr*p.. it's just as well we've got a big shed where we are. PS- sent you guys an email in regards to our move.

Well I don't know about up there in Jamestown, but it's raining the proverbial Cat's 'n Dogs here! Yay much?! About time really... so nice to smell the fresh rain smell.

I don't think anyone's too rapt up this way, there are many still reaping and so far we've only had enough moisture (it would be wrong to call it rain) to stop the harvest.

It's arrived!... I think that we could have had better timing, but unfortunately the weather has a mind of it's own. There was more than enough storm water in Ayr Street at about 9:30am, and I have always said that the measure of a "good fall" of rain can be judged by whether it makes Jacka Creek flow. At home, it was to wet to go and check the rain gauge at 9:00am this morning, but by 9:30 we had 37.4mm in our gauge and there was plenty of surface water in our back block, all of which had soaked away an hour later.
