We hate spammers!

« on: 20 November, 2008, 02:35:59 AM »

Owing to a number of new members joining proving to be spammers, we have amended the registration method to include approval by a Moderator or Administrator. If this proves too inconvenient to genuine people in the mid-north, please email events@jamestownevents.com and we will ensure genuine wannabe members achieve priority registration.

Thanks for your understanding. We want this forum to be as family friendly as possible, without the links or personal messages from spammers that could prevent your enjoyment. A reminder - simply email us at the link above if you have any problems registering.  Let's all continue to party in the mid-north - without the spammers! Grin

An excellent idea!

I'm sure that it will not cause a great deal of inconvenience.

Spammers = Blowflies of the internet.

A good idea. And I'm sure that legitimate people who wish to sign up wont be put off by an extra step to verify their account.
Most forums/sites have security measures in place anyway.

It's protecting future members anyway, from unwanted spam/p0rn or whatever...
